GAC UK awarded prestigious vietnam airline GSA contract

-

Vietnam Airlines has chosen Globe Air Cargo as the cargo general sales agent for its new route between London Gatwick, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The airline is operating four Boeing 777 flights a week from London to Vietnam, each offering 12 tons of cargo capacity. Globe Air Cargo, part of the ECS Group, expects to generate some 2,400 tons per year on the route, including shipments of pharmaceuticals, perishables and whiskey.

ECS will market other major destinations in the Vietnam Airlines network to customers in the UK, including Australia and Japan.

The appointment of Globe Air Cargo in the UK extends the partnership between Vietnam Airlines and ECS Group. Similar GSA contracts are in place in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

Mark Pulling, Managing Director of Globe Air Cargo in the UK, said: “This is an extremely   prestigious contract for Globe Air Cargo to gain in the UK as both the airline and country of Vietnam are emerging forces in the Far East. The start of these direct flights between Vietnam and the UK will in itself act as a catalyst for increased trade between the two countries and therefore more cargo on the route. This contract further develops the partnership between ECS and Vietnam Airlines and highlights the success enjoyed by both companies in other countries.”
